How we perceive things, understand things, view things, makes a difference in how we respond and react. God’s Word gives us God’s perspective on matters. We are able to see things as He views them not as we view them. Our views are tainted by cultural norms and traditions that is so subtle that much of the time you don’t even realize just how much the world is shaping your mind. This is what the Scripture refers to as being conformed (Rom, 12:2). Your mind becomes transformed as you read God’s Word and your perspectives change. It is literally a brain washing process that must continue daily so that you begin to see through God’s eyes and not through your own mind’s eye. God’s requirements are so simple and we make them so complicated. Righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit – this is the kingdom of God. This is what God wants to be within you. These are the things that the enemy is trying to rob, steal and destroy from you. The kingdom of heaven (kingdom of God) suffers violence and the violent take it by force (Matthew 11:12b). When many persons hear about the kingdom of God (kingdom of heaven) they are thinking about a tangible location. But the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21). So all of Satan’s efforts to rob, steal and destroy are targeted at your righteousness, peace and joy. These are the things that make for abundant living that the enemy (the roaring lion)  doesn’t want you to have. He is violently trying to take them away so you cannot afford to be passive. You must be aggressively guarding yourself from his weapons and be on the offensive. You must guard your righteousness, peace and joy diligently, jealously, for this is your heritage from the Lord.
